The Best Ski Resorts in The Americas

While European ski resorts are often bigger than ski resorts in North America, the ski resorts in the Rockies are frequently better organised, better groomed and more likely to have that essential ingredient: powder.

The Rockies lure skiers and snowboarders from all over the world in their quest for some of the driest, lightest powder, particularly in Colorado. Vail, the USA's biggest single ski mountain, is celebrated for it's 'back bowls' where powder collects and is left undisturbed.

While South America ski resorts in the Andes, Chile and Argentina tend to be less streamlined, but this is made up for by the friendly locals and the awe-inspiring nature of the Andes - skiing in South America is almost a spiritual experience.
